A video of 5 things I dislike about my 2008 Hummer H2. I really like this Hummer and it took a while to just come up with these 5. It is the 2nd generation with a few exterior changes and a complete interior change.

A video of 5 things I like about my 2008 Hummer H2, there are more but this is just five of them. I really like a lot about this Hummer and glad I have it. It is the 2nd generation with a few exterior changes and a complete interior change.
SR-20 G1 Second Year Operating Costs

In this video I break down all the costs for the 2nd year of ownership. Still a few maintenance things, a few upgrades and other costs. Next year's inspection will be a little more with the pitot-static pressure system and transponder inspections needed. Still no where near the first year ownership price. I always heard that would be the highest and it was no joke. Hope fully the third year wil...
Taking A Friend In The Cirrus I haven't Seen Since Middle School In The Late 90's!
Переглядів 2149 місяців тому
One of my friends since I started middle school in 1995 was in town for the holiday. We have remained in touch but haven't seen each other since I moved back to NC in the middle of 1998. It sure was fun catching up on things and how each of us have been doing! It felt like old times. We had a very busy airspace day but the clouds lifted and let us got up for a quick ride. Enjoy this quick loop ...

Brief departure on the flat side of the state, my favorite. The cameras died from the trip over to the airport, I didn't have the spare ones to continue filming. I sure love being able to see distance when out of mountains.

Nice bird. Thank you for sharing.
A few years later and I still love it.
just found one at the junkyard😂
I also got a kd lx333 that I love
About to buy a cirrus thank you for this video!
In spite of what the haters say, these are really good planes.
I've loved it ever since I got it. The comfort, speed, ease of flying, safety are all great qualities.
How much does it cost to get the engine overhauled?
I opted for a new engine which I was able to get quicker than having mine overhauled. $66,800 + $11,500 for maintenance to pull the old and install the new even with them breaking a oil temp sensor and making me pay to fix it. $78,300 out the door, all done in less than a week.
I have pic time Day Flying , pilot in command under supervision Day flying, Dual day flying, pic time Night flying, Dual night flying, Co-pilot day and night flying time and Instrument flying time. My total flying time will be the addition of which groups of flying times? Thank you.
Total should be total of all. I’m not sure what supervision day is unless you’re talking about with an instructor
Beautiful
Thank you
Nice Takeoff ! Very Nice !
Thanks a lot!
Nice videos CS. What are you seeing real world cruise TAS? I’m considering an SR20 in the future.
If im not in the local area and actually up at altitude cruising around 140 knots true.
2004/2006, i have 2 of them, best insurance policy you can have driving on the road, love the trucks, parts on e-bay/amazon readily available, leveled and running on 37” Toyo M/T’s on stock 17” wheels, daily driver
I would daily mine if I had to. I just drive it usually one, maybe two days a week since I have a company car.
@@ChiliStyles yes that would be an advantage to have a company car, really nice truck you have, I think mine would be in a lot better shape if I had a garage to stick them both in, live in a condo, really hard to keep them up, but since I retired 4 years ago, it keeps me busy…..lol
Thanku for the breakdown, very helpful !
You’re welcome
What company replaced your engine ?
I got it from Airmark in Pompano beach FL. Very quick shipping and good customer service. The maintenance facility at my airport did the swap.
These units as well as Alpine's were some of the best in the 90's for hard hitting systems.
I have a Memphis mclass big belle I’m going to wire up with it.
thanks I was confused with the time logs. Just did my first lesson.
You’ll get used to it. Some logbooks are different such as the one I use now. The time can be confusing. Just keep track of your Hobbs time
What's the name of the song on this video?
The first one is: Lost David Helpling & Jon Jenkins. Thats probably the one you are thinking of.
@@ChiliStyles perfect, thank you!
Its CLEAN
Thank you! It helps that I don’t drive it all the time.
What do you think about comfort while driving.. I mean - 2003-2007 Hummers had plastic squeaking when they hit 50 mph... After refreshing (6.2 instead of 6.0 engine) did this problem disappear? I'm thinking about buying one... but I still don't know if the overall is worth it. Cool vid, btw
Second gen interior is pretty comfy, the leather seats are pretty firm. After about 4 hours constant driving cross country my back hurts a little, other than that very comfy. I get a little squeaks around 70 mph. With the 6.2 and 6 speed trans it cruises nicely at 70mph. For rides less than 4 hrs I have no complaints about comfort. It is not my daily driver though, if it was it would probably be a different story.
I have a 2005 with 300k km on it, no interior squeaks or rattles from the interior. However, my Cowl that has been busted up from hail does make some rattling when wind hits at the wrong way. Need to find a replacement.
My replacement cowl was found in Texas somewhere, took months to track down. @@onetwentyish
There isn't a way to disengage the front drive at all? Weird. I was thinking they just didn't do the electronic side, but I'm sure the hardware is not there to do it.
No, it's 4wd all the time. It's a good design, a 2wd Hummer is kinda pointless but being able to disengage for long drives would help.
The all wheel drive is the best, any wheel slippage it engages to keep you safe without having to to lock in the manual 4 wheel drive mode, I drive mine on turnpike and I-95 in pouring rain at 80 mph, and it stays straight and the Toyo M/T’s don’t hydroplane compared to the stock B.F.Goodrich tires, they floated at 70, scary feeling when it starts moving in other lane and you’re not turning the wheel…..lol
As someone who is not colorblind I can only imagine the emotion, glad they are working for you!
Thank you! I still wear them but not all the time since I get headaches from them. I guess from my eyes adjusting.
I have same one. With carbon with red leather.
I love mine! I’ve never seen one with the red in person. I heard it’s rare.
@@ChiliStyles yes it's rare can't send videos on here sorry
Good looking 08 indeed, i like the carbon fiber better than brushed aluminium, do you have any plans to upgrade your rims & tires?? Thank You For Your Time.
Thank you, im trying to take care of it. Not driving it daily is a big help too. I thought about changing the rims at one point but since I drive it 1 or 2 days a week if that I don't think I will, it will hold value better with the stock ones.
That thing has tons of room inside! Is the front grill guard pretty solid?
Very solid, made by Real Wheels, it's about 2k. The only thing is since it moves with the forward hinged hood it's mounted to its mounting points instead of the frame. No complaints though.
Nice roomy interior…and I’m jealous of the seat covers!
It's very wide, the top of the door panel could be another arm rest. Very roomy, terrible visibility
That Hummer will keep holding value & keep goin up .......like the muscle cars....soon you'll won't be able to find them....
This one was hard to find in its condition, I did a couple of things to it but thats all im going to do. Nothing crazy. Just maintain it and keep it in good condition, especially with the harder to find second gen interior.

Hi
I like being able to say I have a buddy with a plane 😎
You’re always welcome to come up
@@ChiliStyles I’m a little attached to the ground lol
Man that’s a lot to keep up with. I do good to pay the bills and manage the upkeep I have for a truck. You rock bro!
There’s so much to it behind the scenes. The little things add up quick
@@ChiliStyles and every bit of it is extremely important too
Sorry if I missed it: how many hours did you fly in 2023? Thanks and happy new year to you!
49 hours exactly in this plane.
@@ChiliStyles Thanks a lot! Really helpful cost breakdown.
That shirt looks familiar. It looks good on you. 😉
It’s comfy 😂
@@ChiliStyles of course! 😂
You guys look like Maverick and Goose
Only if I could go supersonic it would be much better
Have a w7 in my civic and it’s in a box right now but it’s not bumping how it should, looking at the ho box. Running on a Jp23 1.5 1 channel. Rating is 2 ohms at 1000w @12v; 1300w @14.4v Is this amp powerful enough for the sub? Had 2 guys now telling me it’s the amp..
12w7 in a custom enclosure I have atm Dimensions are Width: 28” Depth: 21.5” Height: 14”
Your amp is plenty, those jp amps push way more power than advertised. probably the box. the w7 needs alot of airspace. it actually sounded poor in my truck even with a proper amp and tuned right, I got rid of my truck and put it in my hummer and it sounded much better, I have since replaced it though, with 4 W0 15's on a RD 1500/1 The way the ho box is designed with the port is pretty neat
@@ChiliStyles right because I did check the amp dyno on here and they do push out more than what the rating is. I was looking at a JL HD 750/1 but I don’t want to spend more money if my amp is already good. So I guess those guys are just trying to hustle me for my money? Should I look at trying to tune the crossover, gains on the amp myself? Was looking at few videos here and I just got a SMD Distortion tool
Maybe work on more tuning, remember if you cross over on the amp run the head unit flat or vise versa. dont cross over and tune the head unit and amp or it will be a mess. Your amp is plenty for that sub and then some even f you had a 13w7. For my set up I do all my tuning on my head unit and leave the amp flat and just run its gain below distortion. I dont run any additional signal processors. I run a Pioneer 5700 BHS head unit. It's older, but still is great and has tons of customization on it. I gotta make a new vehicle and sound system video soon. @@MarkJosephMunar-xn8wn
@@ChiliStyles running also a pioneer deck older model than yours but it’s decent lol AVH-1400 NEX Thanks for your support and knowledge, I’m always looking to learn more and if I could do it myself to save a few hundred to thousands I think it will be worth it
My favorite Farva line was when the highway patrol stole his city cruiser and he said “That’s my car, that’s my girl!” 😂 It kills me every time!
That movie cracks me up
@@ChiliStyles me too! Definitely one of my all time favorites.
Congratulation, some members of my family can use these, others passed too soon. The world is so much better with more colours. Yes they are lighter than sunnies, but even tv will look better with them.
They're pretty neat, they really help with seeing the different shades of colors. I do get headaches from them but probably just from my eyes adjusting
It’s amazing that you can now see color, very happy you got them
Thank you! I dont wear them all the time from the headaches they give, but when I do it's a noticeable difference.
I thought they would be bigger
Not much for around here, the larger aircraft seem to be out west.
An alarm went off when you went over Biltmore Estate?
It's part of an instrument landing system beacon. The beacon is on the estate property.
Beauty landings - would love to be about to chat about your ownership experience on the plane. Was originally looking at SR22, but believe the SR20 will serve me and my family fine. Would love to be about to talk on the phone about your thoughts and insights.
I have a video for my first year ownership up. 2nd year coming early January.
Love the crystal clear weather...did they just add a new road for that runway?
Alot was just re surfaced. Very smooth
When I decided it was time to invest in a backup, handheld VHF Comm radio for my flight bag, I defaulted to the fanciest, Yaesu model, with GPS and VOR navigation. The main reason being, I wanted memory sets with text so I could preset all frequencies for my base airport with logical text names. I wish I had just bought this one and saved $$$. I’ll never use those additional features. Having the headset jacks integrated, rather than cabled dongles, is far more important than text based memories.
I bought this one because I just wanted a com incase I had some kind of issue. I use it alot on ground to get clearances and weather. I dont need any of the other features. Theres an upgraded one now, but in the time ive had this one it still works perfect. The headset jacks are really nice! When you need it quickly, it's easy to plug in instead of looking for some adapter.
Nice truck man
Thanks. It’s been replaced now
120 lbs..?? JL 13W7 weighs 50 lbs..
You are correct except you forgot a very thick box.
I’m late. From what I’ve heard, that’s about the best sub you can buy. Nowadays there’s underseat options for trucks. A couple underseat 8W7s?
I had an entire amp rack under the seat but the trucks gone now. The w7 slammed good but not for a pick up. Needs to be in a car or suv. I could easily hear it hit max excursion all the time even with 800 watts rms. I have a H2 now with 4 15” WOv3 on a rd 1500/1 at 1 ohm
@@ChiliStyles Yeah the JL max RMS values are THE absolute max. The 12W7 voids the warranty if you exceed 1000 watts. If it bottomed at 800, was the box larger than specs? I’m curious cuz I really want one.
@@ChiliStyleshow you like that rd1000/1 With this sub does it hit good ?
@@TRDproMike it did ok. Probably could have used more power. I have since gotten rid of it and run 4 w0 15s in a h2 hummer. On a RD-1500. I’ve had to replace 2 already from blowing them. I push it at 1 ohm and it’s so much more powerful. If you’re going to spend the $ for the 1000 just get the 1500 and dial it back some.
@@ChiliStyles so I’m guessing that JL audio HD 750/1 would underpowered W7 12
I love this 360 view!
It is pretty neat!
Very cool! How are you liking the SR20?
I love it! I got it from the same guy I got my motorcycle from years prior. It's excellent all around. Hoping to upgrade to a sr-22 one day for the increased speed, useful load and range.
@@ChiliStyles Speed is always more fun. I am currently flying the T6 and that bird can cruise
Texan II or original one? either way both are incredible planes. Ive always wanted to get in a T6
✨♥️🤗♥️✨
I’m glad you enjoy it
Did I detect some runway rage at the beginning of the video?
I wasn't happy with him cutting close infront of me coming out the ramp to the taxiway. I had the right of way. Had to edit that chatter out.

This was a very peaceful, very early in morning flight
This is a great overview. I’ve started my airplane purchasing search, and I’ve been looking at the SR 20 as a entry into Cirrus aircraft. This overview is definitely helpful fly well!
Thank you. this first year of ownership is when I spent the most amount of $. The second year is halfway done for me and ive spent nowhere as much. even the annual was less. Great first plane for me, good load, range, speed and comfort. It's very easy to get used to the side yoke and my arm doesn't get tired at all.
